Hello December

This year has shot by like a comet. I swear, this has been the quickest year I have ever experienced. Maybe it's because I'm getting older and I am longing to suspend time. Or maybe it's because this year has been my busiest work year to date since 2013. Probably a bit of both.

It's not over yet though, we still have a few weeks of the year to go and in the lead up to Christmas I am attempting to do a little bit of art everyday because my art making for fun has been kind of non existent recently. My inner critic, (called Richard, Dick for short), has been visiting too and I've been trying to tackle that. Reading "Your Inner Critic Is a Big Jerk: And Other Truths About Being Creative" by Danielle Krysa has helped immensely and ultimately she reminds us to just keep going and do something everyday. Even if it ends up in a crumpled ball on the floor. It's progress and that's what matters. A long over due and much needed chat with Lilla yesterday morning helped a lot too.

I think I've been feeling this way because I'm actually quite exhausted. Exhausted from many things. Exhausted from a very full year and lots and lots of everyday juggling. Yesterday, I had a break from screens and studio space and paint and pens and today I feel much better and I have been super productive.

So, here I am kicking of a little Christmas advent art making until Christmas eve with these little paintings. I'll be sharing more as we go through the month so come back and see them all.
